The Monarch
The Monarch is the original design at Garland, and features an incredibly tranquil golf environment along a fairly flat terrain with a nice mix of open and tight tree lined
fairways, sculpted out of northern Michigan pine forests. Like the other three courses here, the Monarch features outstanding conditioning from tee to green along with wonderful vistas. A good deal of the holes feature beautiful water hazards in the form of lakes, ponds and streams that border or cross the manicured fairways
Reflections is a unique layout that features a great variety in hole design. One element that is consistent with the three other Garland courses, is the outstanding conditioning from tee to green. Elevation changes and extremely rolling fairways are found on the opening holes, and then again in the latter portion of the back side. This type of terrain is not found in this extreme on any of the other
Garland designs.
Swampfire is a gorgeous golf course featuring manicured fairways sculpted by pine and hardwood forests, that lead to large, mildly undulating and mostly raised putting complexes. This is one of Garland's tightest layouts, demanding both distance and accuracy off the tee. Water hazards, many of them formidable, are also present on 15 of the 18 holes.
Fountains is the premier layout at Garland, and the newest course on the property, added to the resort in
1995. Not available for public play, this course is a "members only" course that features upscale conditioning and an aesthetically beautiful golfing environment. Majestic pines and hardwoods line the fairways on spectacular, rolling terrain that visitors to northern Michigan have come to appreciate - a signature for an area that is considered to be one of the nation's top golf destinations.
